What a Way to Start

From snorkelling with seals and being visited by dolphins to cooking up over 800 sausages to fundraise for Rehoboth Children's Home in the Philippines, we are off to a strong start at Werribee Secondary.

Discovering Dolphins!

Our Year 10 Geography and Sport and Recreation students went snorkelling with seals this week at Queenscliff. Two beautiful days of perfect weather helped make the event extra enjoyable, as students enjoyed the marine environment and learnt about the environmental management and use of that area of the coast. To top it all off, after snorkelling with the seals, both groups were joined by some playful dolphins. What a way to start the term!

Sausages, Sausages and More Sausages

Last week our Year 9 Leadership Team ran a giant sausage sizzle to raise much needed funds for Rehoboth Children’s Home in the Philippines. How big? 800 sausages, a bag full of onions and lots and lots of bread and sauce. Thank you to all the student helpers and the teachers who bravely BBQ-ed the 800 sausages in pretty miserable weather until the sun came out at lunchtime. More than $2000 was able to be raised for the support and care of vulnerable children.

Save The Date!

Our Thanksgiving Evening – aka Awards Night – will be held at the Encore Events Centre (next to Aquapulse) on Wednesday, November 30th. It is expected that all students attend the relevant session in their formal school uniform.

The Year 7 -9 session will be held from 6:30 – 7:30pm.

Year 10-12 session, including the Year 12 graduation, will be held from 8:00 – 9:30pm.

We look forward to celebrating the year together and giving thanks for all God’s goodness this year.
