After lots of planning for fun displays to go with the Book Week 2021 theme of ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’ last year, we were saddened when we ended up in lockdown through Book Week and couldn’t bring our ideas to life.
In Term 1 of 2022, we decided to not just throw away our plans, and to set them up and celebrate late instead!
In the foyer, anyone visiting the library enters through wardrobe doors and steps into our Narnia winter wonderland, a new world. With Narnia style music and snow falling just through the projected window, it’s become a pretty magical space.
The Secondary R2 library space has our airport gate, where students can sit and read comfortably with a departure body, as though they are about to board a flight to other worlds they can also find in the books around them!
In R3 we have our Doctor Who TARDIS for Sci-Fi lovers to visualize the endless possibilities of old, new and other worlds thy could travel to.
Our Primary Library has been transformed into outer space, where students enter through a spaceship and imagine stepping out of the spaceship into a new world.
