Tennis and Badminton Success at the Junior Rally Days
On Monday 21 October, our Years 7 and 8 students competed in tennis and badminton during the CSEN Rally Day. The tennis competition included five schools with 23 teams. Our boys had an excellent day on the court, with our top team, Xavier and Dev, finishing 2nd in Division 1, followed closely by Jack and Agam, who placed 3rd.
On the badminton court, the success continued. The girls' competition featured six schools and 39 teams, while the boys' competition saw 36 teams participating. In the girls' Division 1, Amie Y and Meghan secured 1st place. In Division 2, Annabelle and Shruthi won their division, while Arshiya and Shayna narrowly missed out in the final, finishing 2nd in Division 3.
The boys also performed well in badminton, with several close matches. Shaunav and Albert won Division 2, and in a tense Division 3 final, Jaden L. and Daniel A. narrowly lost in a nail-biting finish.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for their dedication and hard work!
Successes and Positive Team Spirit at Intermediate Tennis and Badminton Rally Day
On 28 October, our Intermediate teams took to the courts in an exciting display of skill, sportsmanship, and determination in both tennis and badminton, bringing home outstanding results and experiences.
Intermediate Tennis Success
Our Division 1 Boys, Aadi and Aaron, had a fantastic day on the tennis court. They won all their games except one before reaching the finals, where they faced Christway Kingston. Despite showing great promise and having several chances to secure victory, they finished as runners-up in a close and intense match.
In Division 1 Girls, Tia and Grace displayed exceptional talent, winning every game with ease. Tia stood out as the day’s best player, leading the team to victory as they defeated Maranatha 3, clinching the Division 1 title.
The Division 2 Girls team of Ava and Isobel impressed everyone not only with their performance but also with their sportsmanship. Ava, a standout player in her division, supported and encouraged Isobel throughout, even helping her develop an overhand serve. Their teamwork and spirit were unmatched as they won all their pool games. Although they narrowly missed the title in a challenging final against Waverley Narre Warren, their display of character was a highlight of the day.
Intermediate Badminton
Our Intermediate Badminton teams also had a fantastic showing, competing among 69 teams across seven schools. Due to an unexpected technical issue, the girls' final placements were not fully resolved, yet Mikaela and Aleesha were honoured as winners of Division 4, celebrating their exceptional day of matches.
On the boys' side, competition was fierce, with 58 teams across four divisions. Skada and Ashwin showed remarkable skill and flair, winning all but one game in their pool and then dominating their semi-final match by a clear 20-point margin. Although they faced a tough final opponent and narrowly missed out on the gold, their performance was exceptional.
In Division 2, Aaron and Ayaan showed resilience, capturing the bronze medal with a determined effort. Eshaan and Marvelle, competing in Division 3, played a thrilling final and missed the gold by just one point, finishing in second place after a valiant effort.
Overall, our players’ achievements and sportsmanship stood out on this memorable rally day. We are proud of their hard work and camaraderie. Each student demonstrated the dedication and positive attitude that make Heathdale so remarkable, and we look forward to more successes in the future!
