Over the course of the year G.A.T.E.WAYS runs a number of leadership days for students in Year 5 and 6. These programs provide an opportunity for students with leadership potential to come together to develop their critical and creative thinking, problem solving, communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Students participate in seminars, workshops and panel discussions. Panels comprise men and women who are leaders in their particular fields or workplaces. These leaders encourage the students to develop their talents, follow their passions, and make a positive contribution to their world.
This program consists of three series and each series runs for two days and will be held at City Cite, Level 12, 474 Flinders Street, Melbourne.
Year 6: Series 2 (September)
Year 5: (September)
The program has been designed for students to complete the first series as a Year 5 in the September school holidays and then return as a Year 6 student the following year in April for Series 1 and finish with Series 2 in the September school holidays. Although, the program has been designed as a complete package, each series should stand alone. This means that students do not have to participate in a previous or future series. The students are expected to attend both days in a series.
NB: Parents can enrol their children directly in these programs. Further information re dates and cost can be accessed on the G.A.T.E.WAYS website: www.gateways.edu.au/programs
