Father God,
Our community is heartbroken as we watch the suffering, fear and uncertainty across our world.
Lord, we pray for the people of Ukraine, indeed those on all sides who are experiencing the pain of this violence. Families are watching from all corners of the planet, worrying about loved ones. Strangers are watching, feeling helpless at the magnitude of need.
Father, we thank you that You are our shepherd and that your loving protection is with us, comforting us as we walk through life.
Together, we ask for your care and compassion to be with all those hurting and afraid. May we love all our neighbours as you asked us to do, especially when we disagree. May your peace and presence be a solace to the mourning and strengthen all who are oppressed.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
