Father God,
As Remembrance Day approaches, we come to You in gratitude, remembering those who fought so we might live in freedom. We recognise this as a gift not all experience, and we are humbled to live in a country blessed with liberty.
We pray for all those who have served and are still serving in the armed forces, those who bear scars from standing for freedom and the families who have lost loved ones. We ask that Your comfort and presence would surround, uphold and strengthen them. May they find ever-increasing measures of healing through You.
In our prayers, we remember those countries and regions that do not yet live in the freedom we are graced with. We ask that where lands are not free, the people within might know the ultimate freedom that comes from You. We boldly ask that peace would reign in all lands, Lord Jesus.
We pray all this in Your name, Jesus, who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Amen.
