Our Father,
We praise You for being the fount of all wisdom, knowing that nothing in all of creation is hidden from Your sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before Your eyes, which gives us great assurance as we navigate this life You have given us. You know when we sit down and when we rise up; You perceive our thoughts from afar. By Your word, You discern both the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. No one is more knowing or discerning than You.
So, we come to You and humbly cry out for Your help. We are limited in our understanding, living in a world of competing narratives, each vying for our attention, time and resources. We continually face complex situations where we desire to make wise decisions. Father, grant us knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may discern what is best and live pure and blameless before You in love. Help us to nourish ourselves with the solid food of Your Word, so that our discernment will be trained by constant practice, enabling us to distinguish good from evil. Guide us confidently when You say, "This is the way; walk in it." Keep us from the no-through roads of our own making, so that we may discern the path of righteousness and walk in it joyfully for Your name’s sake.
Help us to think Your thoughts after You and to see things through Your eyes.
