Our first group of Year 9 students undertaking Outdoor Education as an elective subject have enjoyed applying their semester’s learning during an overnight hike in Lorne. Carrying a 15kg pack, being responsible for their own meals, using a portable stove and erecting and dismantling their own tents was all part of the adventure! The hike provides a wonderful time away with friends but also the opportunity to develop independence, problem solving, teamwork and resilience, while enjoying God’s wonderful world outdoors. The second group will be undertaking the trip in the coming weeks. Big thanks to the adventurous teachers who are willing to take the path less travelled with our energetic students!
