Today our Prep students farewelled the Year 12s. In this new virtual world, celebrations such as these take on a very different look with an online assembly beamed into the Prep classrooms. Our Prep students ‘spoke’ to the Year 12 students via a video and shared their dreams for them as they continue into the future. They also presented a keyring to them to commemorate this milestone.
We are very grateful to our Year 12 students who have been worthy role models for our Primary students across this year. We will remember them as students who stayed the course, showing us that we can keep going with the Lord’s help and even overcome challenges as they appear as unwelcome roadblocks. We have seen that through our older students’ fine example, staying the course and soon facing final exams, the Lord is our helper and our strength. Our Primary students will be able to recall this graduating class of 2020, who pioneered a new remote learning world.
Thank you, Year 12s, we will continue to pray for you all as you move into this next cycle of exams and conclusion of your final weeks. We congratulate you all. Our Primary students, as well as staff who taught you over the years, will remember you fondly as students who paved the way in 2020 and left us a lasting impression that ‘we can do this!’.
“Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Mid-term Break & Student Free Day
A reminder that Heathdale Christian College has its mid-term break Monday 2nd November and Tuesday 3rd November (Melbourne Cup Day). Our Student Free Day for all Prep-Year 6 students on Friday 20th November will be a day our staff will be finalising reports. Please note these dates on your calendar. Big Childcare is available on our student-free day only.
Bring to School
Please ensure children bring a NAMED drink bottle to school each day as shared school water fountains have been disengaged but taps for refills are available.
Some students have not brought back all their classroom books to school. Please ask children to return all books to school (Maths, Grammar, Connect etc) as they are required during class.
