The Melton library has been transformed into a zoo with exhibits featuring a range of favourite Australian authors, a mini theatre, a Maker Space centre and a petting zoo, as well as our usual puzzles, games and activities. The theme of Book Week is ‘Curious Creatures, Wild Minds’ and our Heathdale Book Week memory verse is ‘Every living creature is in the hands of God’ – Job 12:10. There has never been a better time to stop and reflect on this truth, and the joy that it brings.
Book Week would not be complete without competitions, and the library is running a colouring competition and a short story competition that reflects our Heathdale theme. The winners will receive book vouchers. Book Week is running over two weeks this year, and climaxes in special book-themed incursions and, of course, Dress-Up Day.
