Our students are well on their way with remote learning phase 2! It has been pleasing to see so many students organise their day to be online and active in their learning. Thank you to parents for your oversight, and to our hardworking staff who have endeavoured to engage every learner in their classes. While we must abide by the new constraints it is pleasing to hear that for most families, students are trying hard, showing resilience and adaptability once more.
One of the important matters we would like to convey, is that students need appropriate breaks and active physical outdoor or indoor exercise. The new session times for learning accommodate this with a good break during lunch time and finishing of the ‘school day’ for Primary at 3pm. While homework this time round has been placed on hold, there are always positive learning opportunities for ongoing research and items to create, make or explore. While we do not know how long we will be in this seeming holding pattern, as a Primary staff we will do all we can to ensure every student is engaged, helped and guided through their learning over the coming weeks. Partnering with parents remains the foundational attribute for us as we provide Christian Education. Please ensure you contact us for any matters with regard to your child engaging in learning during this remote season.
Safety Online
Child safety is a high priority for us at this time of online activity. There is helpful information available regarding safe sites for children here – www.esafety.gov.au/parents
Students should have taken their school books home at the end of last term, however, if you need to collect any required books for your child, please email the Primary Office – werribeeprimary@heathdale.vic.edu.au – to organise collection.
As a staff we continue to pray for each student and family during this unusual time. If you would like us to pray for you with particular focus, please feel free to inform myself or our Primary Office by emailing us. May you know the Lord’s peace and his strength in your family over the coming weeks.
“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord” – Psalm 31:24
