The Year 7 Camp was an incredible opportunity for students to experience growth, connection and adventure in a supportive, Christ-centered environment. The theme, 'Growing in God’s Grace Together,' set the tone for the camp as students embraced new experiences, overcame challenges and deepened their relationships with one another and with God.

Each day began with a devotion focused on reflection and encouragement. One of the highlights was a devotion on Identity in Christ, reminding students of their worth and purpose in God’s eyes and grounding them in the message of Psalm 139:14: "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Throughout the camp, students participated in a variety of activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and resilience. The high ropes course, rock climbing, flying fox zipline and archery provided thrilling challenges, helping students push past their fears and discover new strengths. Team-building activities such as the pipeline challenge, slingshot activity, and tug-of-war encouraged collaboration and reinforced the importance of supporting one another.

A scenic 2.5 km walk to the local river offered a chance for peaceful reflection and connection with nature, while dipping their feet in the river provided a refreshing break. Students also took part in cooking damper and well-being-focused sessions, which encouraged self-reflection and personal growth.

The Talent Night was a standout moment of the camp, where students showcased their creativity and confidence through eight different performances, celebrating the unique gifts within the group. Daniella G. and Isabella B. won the Best Performance Award for their duet, while Jonah F. received the Most Unique Talent Award for his motivational speech.

Most importantly, the camp embodied the theme of growing together in God’s grace. It was a time of spiritual and personal growth, where students built lasting friendships, tackled challenges, and embraced God’s presence in their lives.

We are grateful for the opportunity to witness the Year 7 students grow in faith, character and community. This camp was a wonderful reminder of the strength we find in each other and in God’s grace, and we look forward to the continued growth of these students throughout the year.
