G.A.T.E.WAYS Challenge 2021

We had teams of students compete in the 2021 G.A.T.E.WAYS Challenge, where they participated in some truly mind-bending challenges under extreme time pressure!

In three, two, one… GO! These were the words that the students at Heathdale heard multiple times on Wednesday and Thursday this week as they competed in the 2021 G.A.T.E.WAYS Challenge.

A total of thirty-two students from Years 3 to 6 competed against teams of students from other Victorian schools. The teams did a wonderful job of representing our school. They showed grit and determination as well as excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills as they worked through some truly mind-bending challenges under extreme time pressure. During remote learning, the teams met weekly to prepare for the challenge. The teams, their families and the school community can be very proud of their efforts and what they were able to achieve in each of four 30-minute challenges.

Heathdale Hurricanes: Derek, Ashwin, Jagrav & Damien (Year 6)

Heathdale High Flyers: Annabelle, Renuka, Lakshya & Jeshna (Year 6)

Heathdale Supersonics: Thomas, William, Allen & Krish (Year 6)

We are excited to congratulate Heathdale High Flyers (Year 6) for placing third and Heathdale Fab Fours (Year 4) for placing second in their challenges.


G.A.T.E.WAYS: Year 7-9 Program

Additionally, G.A.T.E.WAYS have now extended their programs to include online opportunities for students in Years 7-9.

Master Classes Online - After school programs

Program Overview: A Master Class is a deep-dive into a topic that happens over 4 x 90-minute sessions. They encompass progressive skill building, continuous feedback and focused learning. Master Classes are designed for students in Years 7-9.

Fees Student Fee: $180 for 4 x 90-min sessions
