Year 10 students have been exploring the world of work and careers over several days of special events and speakers. Our kick-off day was held at the Encore Events Centre and included speakers on VCE and Pathways options, and workshop sessions with Elevate Education on goal setting and study habits.
As the week progressed, students attended elective sessions from a wide range of industries including law, the armed services, small business, the performing arts, design, engineering, psychology, trades, apprenticeships and nursing. Students also completed units of virtual work experience in areas of their own interest to gain a breadth of understanding about future careers options, challenges and opportunities.
One of our very special guests this year was Professor Chris Sobey, who is a leading a team developing ground-breaking treatment for strokes at Latrobe University.
What an amazing blessing for our students to have this opportunity to gain an insight into his work and research experience!
A huge vote of thanks to Mrs Vicky Bawden, our Careers and Pathways coordinator, for putting together such smorgasbord of experiences to inspire our students to ‘Be the Exceptional’ in whatever industry they consider for their future.
