We accept applications at any time, for any year level for the Enrolment Standby List, which is based on availability in the Year level. How do you prioritise applications?
We have a variety of priorities for entry into our College. We ask you take the time to read these in the Enrolment Policy.
Why is Heathdale's Christian Education unique?
We provide an education that is delivered by teachers who possess a biblical worldview and who are therefore able to help students develop a similar worldview of their own. The Bible becomes the lens through which students view what they are learning.
The desire of our founding families was for staff to provide an education that nurtures the whole child; their academic, spiritual, emotional and physical needs.
Our purpose is derived from this and is the springboard from which all of our programs throughout our College run.
We are not Christians, however still want a Christian education for our children. Does this matter?
We are not a closed enrolment school, meaning that we have a variety of family backgrounds in our College. Our founding Chairman, Pastor Joe Westlake stated that, “Our focus is to introduce students to a Christian worldview where God is in charge, directing us about how to live”. This is our primary focus and we will always educate from a Christian Biblical perspective. Each member of our staff is active in his or her Christian faith enabling us to meet our purpose.
Regardless of background, all families are expected to abide by the ethos of the School, as reflected in our foundation documents.
Do children have to undertake any testing as part of the enrolment process?
Entry is not determined by the level of prior education that a student may have. Once a family has been offered admission, teachers will assess the readiness of each child for the relevant year level. For most year levels, this can be determined within the Enrolment appointment and in conjunction with prior school reports.
In Kindergarten and Prep, evaluation of a child’s readiness for school occurs in October and November prior to the year of entry. Incoming Year 7 students are required to sit a series of assessment tasks approximately five months prior to beginning with our College.
Do you offer Scholarships?
Our College purpose is founded on the truth that God made each child with unique potential. It is for this reason that we do not offer scholarships, as we know that each child is created equal with individual characteristics and traits. No characteristic is more valuable than another - rather they are different. We keep our fees consistent with a moderate fee paying school which allows us to provide effective resources for our learning and co-curricular programs for all students.
Does your Kindergarten offer before and after school care?
Our 4-year-old Kindergarten runs a 30 hour program each fortnight. 3-year-old Kindergarten, which is due to launch in 2025, will be a 15 hour program each fortnight. We do not offer before and after school care for Kindergarten students.
